Analysis:

The masthead of this image is vogue, whenever you see the vogue brand it is always in the same font so just by seeing the font you will know what brand of magazine it is allowing it to be easier to find for a audience, vogue changes the colour of there masthead on each magazine to suit that specific one that’s why this one is pink as it suits the rest of the magazine and the colours on it.

The colour scheme within in this magazine is mainly pinks and black, the pink would allow this magazine to reach a female audience as stereotypically pink is the most feminine colour, the dress being in a different shade of pink allows for the coverlines to stand out more to the audience, it also allows for the female in the image to look more pure as it very close to being white. The black that is also within this magazines colour scheme allows for them other coverlines to be easily read by the audience so they know what this magazine will be able it also adds a darker colour onto all the lighter ones to add some contrast.

Within this magazine cover different fonts are used this allows for this magazine to grab the audience’s attention, reflect the style of this specific magazine and highlight the important topics that are mentioned in the magazine, each font will b ring its own vibe to the magazine so the bold fonts add a different mood to the magazine rather than the small smooth girly fonts, the bold ones allow for this information to be read first and the calmer font will be read after which is what vogue intended. The font sizes also help the audience have specific pieces of information stand out as the bold font shows these bits of text are bigger compared to others. The masthead is also a big size compared to the rest of the text to make it easier for the audience to find this magazine, the phrase “super easy glamour” is show in a calm small font however is the largest bit of text linking it to the main image.

the main image is a picture of an older female; this would make this targeted at the female audience that is into fashion as she is in a beautiful pink dress. This main image takes up the whole of the magazine cover making it the first thing your eyes go to, the pink dress allows pink to be in the colour scheme making it be used within the rest of the magazine cover.

The cover lines of this image are all in the same colour and same font, making them be known that they are all coverlines. The bold font they are in makes them easy for the audience to read and the pink colour links them in with the main image making the magazine look put together very well. The messages on the coverlines like “fashion” “trends”” spring clean” allow for this magazine to be targeted at females as these are all things they do and have interest in. the main cover line in comparison uses the same colour as the other cover lines so they all link together however its just a different and bigger font. As this main coverline is “super easy glamour” it again allows for this female audience to be targeted as females are mainly into glamour as this word is highly based around fashion, style and makeup making it really stand out towards the female gender.

The rule of thirds is used very well within this magazine cover as the main image is seen in each section of the graph, you can also see that none of the text covers the centre of the image allowing the writing to be in the perfect place to make the magazine look organised and clean also linking it to that female audience as they are known as the cleaner gender. The rule of thirds is shown to be leaving two thirds of the image open and this is where the text was cleverly placed.
