Design & Layout: Sleek, high-end design, optimized for desktop and mobile. A mix of editorial photo spreads, newsy headlines, and shoppable product carousels. Bold serif and sans-serif fonts convey a blend of tradition and modernity—suiting the aspirational tone of the brand. Predominantly black, white, and grey with occasional strong accent colours—reflecting sophistication and masculinity. Editorial portraits, luxury product photography, and celebrity close-ups are used to communicate lifestyle ideals. Article titles are stylish, often witty or punchy (“The New Rules of Style”, “How to Dress Like a Billionaire”). This reflects an editorial tone that is confident, informative, and aspirational. Tone of articles varies: some adopt journalistic seriousness (politics, tech), others are more lifestyle-focused (grooming, watches, sex). Videos, embedded social media, audio content (e.g., GQ Hype interviews). Interactive galleries, polls, and "Top 10" lists ar...

analysis of website 2 (glamour)

Image
Design & Layout: The Glamour UK site has a minimalist, mobile-first layout. Clear category divisions (Beauty, Fashion, Lifestyle, Wellness, Entertainment, etc.) help guide users. Clean, white background with soft pastel accents or black/pink highlights creates a feminine, sleek, and approachable aesthetic. Sans-serif fonts create a modern, accessible tone—more casual than Vogue, suggesting mass appeal over elitism. Includes editorial-style photography mixed with social-media-like selfies and product flat lays, creating relatability. Conversational, friendly, and inclusive ("Here's what you need to know," "Real talk"). Headlines are often listicles or questions (“Is This the Best Sunscreen Ever?”), optimized for SEO and click-throughs. Diversity and Inclusion: Focuses on women and marginalised genders. Content often reflects a feminist stance, promoting empowerment, body positivity, and self-care. Articles about periods, sexual health, and f...

analysis of website 1 (vogue)

Image
Design & Layout: The Vogue UK site uses a clean, minimalist aesthetic—a lot of white space, thin serif fonts, and high-resolution imagery. This visual language aligns with the brand’s luxury fashion identity. Use of high production values (e.g., stylized editorial shoots, cinematic videos) contributes to aspirational appeal. Navigation is intuitive, using drop-down menus and immersive scroll-based interaction, reinforcing premium user experience. Combines text, video, and imagery—a multimodal strategy typical of convergent media. Headlines often use evocative or ideological language: e.g., "Fashion’s Future" or "Beauty Beyond Boundaries"—signaling cultural consciousness. Black-and-white theme with high-resolution photography mirrors the print version’s luxury branding. Top stories are featured prominently—often related to celebrity fashion, high-end fashion shows, or social issues relevant to the brand (e.g., sustainability or inclusivity). Diversity and Inclu...

The masthead of this magazine cover is glamour, again with this brand they use the same font for there specific magazine so you can easily tell what magazine you are picking up without seeing the whole page, the only thing this brand does is change the colour of there masthead to fit the colour scheme of the magazine, for this magazine the colour of the masthead is pink but for a different one it could be yellow. The colour scheme is helping show the targeted audience for this magazine, as its all mainly pinks with some purple and black this would draw in a female audience as pink is a feminine colour, within this magazine though there is some binary opposition as there is a white background within this image giving a sense of purity however the magazine cover is filled with words like “men” and “ sex” making this magazine for an older female audience rather than the younger audience. the fonts within this image are mainly bolder fonts to allow everything to stand out more agains...

For the masthead of this magazine cover it is again a vogue magazine, with vogue they use a specific font for their masthead each time it’s always the same font, but they change the colour to suit the magazine cover, there typical colour you seen vogue in is the black which is what this cover has. The colour scheme of this magazine is a simple lot of colours it’s nothing too bold and bright making the magazine cover for sophisticated for a higher-class audience. All the coverlines are in the same colour a pure white while the masthead is in a black suiting the dark grey background you can see, there is a small statement of colour with the golden outfit that is being worn. The colour scheme is again supporting that sophisticated audience as it looks neat and clean with these basic loads of colours. Within this magazine cover there isn’t a wide range of fonts again making this magazine look for clean for that upper class, most coverlines are using the same font however they differe...

analysis of print product 1

Image
Analysis: The masthead of this image is vogue, whenever you see the vogue brand it is always in the same font so just by seeing the font you will know what brand of magazine it is allowing it to be easier to find for a audience, vogue changes the colour of there masthead on each magazine to suit that specific one that’s why this one is pink as it suits the rest of the magazine and the colours on it. The colour scheme within in this magazine is mainly pinks and black, the pink would allow this magazine to reach a female audience as stereotypically pink is the most feminine colour, the dress being in a different shade of pink allows for the coverlines to stand out more to the audience, it also allows for the female in the image to look more pure as it very close to being white. The black that is also within this magazines colour scheme allows for them other coverlines to be easily read by the audience so they know what this magazine will be able it also adds a darker colour onto al...
